An mid 18th-century deep plate/charger in the chinoiserie motif prevalent during the 1740-1760 English delft period. Center well depicts a stylized rendition of a Chinese man sitting on a dock with a tree and village in the distance on the bank.
The face of the charger is coated with a white tin-glaze with lead-glazed underside, which is typical for this period. Underside expresses a number of pinhole glaze pops, a typical occurrence during firing from 18th century kilns

CONDITION: Outstanding condition with only a few of the expected minor rim chips and fits on the rim edge. Note presence of saggar peg marks on underside underscoring age and authenticity.
