Very early iteration of the distinctive motif that was produced by St. Clement and its sister pottery Luneville, beginning in the late 18th century. Hand=painted, thick tin-glazed faience.
Features a gently scalloped rim with a pink flower and light green leaves. Slight spot of kiln grit on cavetto. Some roughness to the touch around the edge of the rim due to age and wear.
Early 19th century St.-Clement wares were not marked as early in its existence the pottery did not yet file their particular marks with the French court. This changed in 1830 when hand-painted marks began.
