remarkable fine, and highly desirable, example of early Minton artistry. The Strawberry Server defines Minton excellence in the pre-Victorian and Victorian eras. This example is marked with the Minton manufactured date symbol of 1868. This Rare and beautifully-preserved strawberry server is decorated with a fruiting and flowering strawberry plant around the edge of a brilliant white shell. There is a turquoise well with scalloped edge at one end. Turquoise is carried over to the underside where the makers mark "MINTON" is impressed along with the royal registration and decorators mark pattern number and the date cipher for "1870" and under heavy glaze. Very Good. No cracks. No hairlines. No flakes. Slight staining to the white shell. Kiln effects: glaze pops to the reverse. 8 3/8" (21cm) wide, 8 1/4" (20.5)cm) high 1 1/4" depth.
