Outstanding Victorian-era Staffordshire figure depicting the Princess Royal upon a Tibetan goat, a gift from the Shah of Iran. Stands a prominent 9" in height, this is a bold iteration of what became a very popular subject model for later Staffordshire figures. Indeed. this very could have been one of the first iterations as the use of deep cobalt strongly suggests that this piece was created prior to 1850 as cobalt blue ceased to be used after 1850 in Staffordshire wares due to rarity.
